Finding My Feet
From Darkness Into Light

There comes a moment in life when you finally find your feet. Not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and mentally - when you can plant yourself firmly in self-belief and truly understand that from darkness comes light.
For a long time, I carried shame, discomfort, and vulnerability like heavy stones in my pockets. I thought these were weaknesses, things to hide. But slowly, I’ve realised they are powerful building blocks. They’ve given me tools to help others, to turn the bad into good, to transform past pain into purpose. Every shadow, every struggle, has become a stepping stone toward creating something meaningful - not just for myself, but for the people I support.
The beauty of this journey is that it’s reciprocal. As I help others, I help myself. Those heavy experiences are reshaped into positive neural pathways, releasing joy instead of sadness. The darkness no longer haunts me - it teaches me. And I can’t take all the credit for this growth. Transformation doesn’t happen alone. It truly takes teamwork to make the dream work.
Along the way, I found my tribe. As I stepped into the light, I began to notice the shining people around me - guides, educators, supporters. Slowly, my people revealed themselves, and I gratefully nurtured a forest of beautiful, individual trees around my own. This community has sheltered me from life’s brutal storms, taught me resilience, and reminded me that together, we are stronger.
But it all begins with you. You have to put in the effort, do the hours, and preserve through the darkness. Step by step, the light comes. And when it does, your people will appear, and your forest will grow - strong, resilient, and radiant.
From darkness to light, from shame to strength, from isolation to community - this is the journey of finding your feet, and I’m standing here, firmly rooted, grateful for every step that brought me here.
